Who runs this tool

Design Rate Calc is an independent tool created by Yevhen Kaplin.

The calculator is designed to provide practical freelance design rate benchmarks and to improve those benchmarks over time using aggregated usage data.

What data is collected

When you use the calculator, the following information may be stored:

• Your selected answers about experience, specialization, skills, location, client market, client type and workload.
• The rate calculated by Design Rate Calc.
• Your current hourly rate, only if you choose to provide it.
• Your IP address, used for geographic analysis and improving regional benchmarks.

The calculator does not ask for your name, email address, phone number, account registration or payment information.

How the data is used

The collected data is used to understand aggregated market patterns and improve the accuracy of Design Rate Calc and future rate benchmarks.

Individual responses are not used for advertising and are not sold to third parties.

Services used

Design Rate Calc uses Vercel to host the website and process submissions, and Airtable to store benchmark responses.

These providers may process technical information as part of providing their infrastructure and are subject to their own privacy and security terms.

Data retention

Benchmark responses may be retained for as long as they remain useful for improving the calculator, analyzing market trends and building aggregated benchmark data.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights relating to your personal data, including requesting access, correction or deletion.
